Sustainability

The AFT International Sports Fitness Festival is committed to keeping the festival growing with the least impact to the environment, while making a resounding positive impact on the community.

Environmental sustainability is one of the keystones of our festival, as we work in close collaboration with City Councils that seek to fulfill the Key Performance Indicators of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, in particular UNSDG #3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, which forms the impetus for our goal.

A sustainability partner we found, is the New South Wales government’s Return and Earn. At every event, we invite community members to bring along their recyclables which include bottles, cans and cartons. By depositing them into the Return and Earn depots, donations raised from there go towards supporting our Purpose Partners and through awareness building, the simple act of RE-cycling can bring RE-warding means to support others. A simple act that can make a resounding impact for ourselves, our community and our planet.

In Malaysia

We have learned first-hand by being in the field that trash is also treasure, however whose trash is whose treasure? In our years working behind-the-scenes with researchers, journalists and broadcasters, we have played a part in uncovering stories which have made profound impact on government policy and action. We hope to keep build awareness about environmental sustainability in daily lives, rethinking and constantly pushing for innovation in sustainable development.
